The great superhero movie that everyone is anticipating this summer is Man of Steel. For Warner Bros this is an exceptionally important movie. The impending box office figures determine the direction they will be taking with their foray into a live action DC universe. Not only are they looking to create a new franchise of Superman movies, but they are also looking to create a Justice league that is strong enough to go head to head with Marvel's Avengers. So no pressure for Zack Snyder then! There is a lot riding on this reboot and if the trailer is anything to go by, we will not be disappointed. It promises an immensely epic journey and a great cast, especially with the scarily perfect bit of casting that is Henry Cavill as Superman.

Not only are Warner Bros looking forward to a hopefully successful Man of Steel as a sort of reassurance that they are on the right path, they are also looking to Snyder to helm the Justice League and, of course, any other Superman movies to come.

Kevin Feige, head of Marvel studios and franchise genius, has confirmed that Marvel has obtained the rights to Daredevil, formerly belonging to Fox. Many of you will remember the failed attempt at Daredevil by Fox in 2003. Fox tried to revive the character with David Slade (The Twilight Saga) at the helm as director, but he left a year later to work on Hannibal the TV series. After this blow was dealt to Fox they tried to get something off the ground as quickly as possible with The Grey's Joe Carnahan, but it didn't quite work out.

Two big casting reports from Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy for you to ponder.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier charts Steve Rogers continued troubles in adjusting to the modern world, while a face from the past threatens to destroy everything. Being set in the here and now, naturally SHIELD are going to be involved. Namely, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow and Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury.

The Marvel sequel is currently filming and we have already seen one batch of revealing set photos. These images highlighted Cap's new costume and Black Widow's new hairstyle. Important stuff, I'm sure you will agree.

Disney and IMAX have released the last in their "12:01" line of posters, and quite unsurprisingly it's for Iron Man 3! The IMAX 12:01 series is generally handed out to those attending midnight showings, so get your tickets quick if they aren't sold already.

With production of X-Men: Days of Future Past now under way, if you bet that Bryan Singer would be tweeting less you'd be losing your money. It has done nothing to slow him down. If anything it's had the opposite effect!

We leave Thor at the end of Avengers Assemble taking the tesseract and Loki back to Asgard. Loki, with his major daddy issues, is to be imprisoned for his crimes against Earth. Thor: The Dark World sees our hero forming a truce with Loki. We are also introduced to The Dark Elves who had a major falling out with the Asgardians way back when and decide to attack Asgard and Earth. I am assuming they are attacking Earth because of Thor's love for Earth and Jane Foster. Thor then forms an army to fight against Malekith The Dark Elf. From what it looks like in the trailer, and knowing of Thor's impatience and brawn, he will probably be travelling to Svartalfheim (home of The Dark Elves) with this army.

Images of large, sweeping landscapes, raging battles, well-populated metropolitan areas. Much like Iron Man 3's amped up ambition and scope, Thor: The Dark World looks like a Thor movie that can justify itself in a post-Avengers market.

It looks like The Following's Adan Canto is going from serial killer to superhero, as he tweets about his involvement in the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
