Remember Timecop? The film starring Jean Claude Van Damme about a time travelling cop with an amazing mullet? Well, it's the next, not-that-old film Hollywood have decided to remake.

The new trailer for Disney and Gore Verbinski's film has surfaced with a look at The Lone Ranger. In the trailer we find John Reid (Armie Hammer) is the lone survivor of an attack, who has been saved by his soon-to-be sidekick Tonto (Johnny Depp). When the pair unite against injustice, action and adventure ensues.

With Park Chan-wook successfully turning his hand at an English language debut with the terrific psycho-thriller Stoker, it was only a matter of time before his influential Vengeance Trilogy were threatened with being remade.

May 16th 2014 marks the release date of the brand spanking new Godzilla. Directed by Gareth Edwards it's not surprising to see, in a picture tweeted by Legendary Pictures, what looks like a Japanese commuter train under some distress.

Earlier this week news hit that Will Smith is looking to 'reboot' (the Hollywood buzzword du jour to replace the thoroughly sullied 'remake') Sam Peckinpah's The Wild Bunch.

Richard Madden, who plays Robb Stark in Game of Thrones has signed on to play the Prince in Disney's new live-action version of Cinderella.

Gremlins is one of my favourite movies. If me and my lady had to pick a movie to be "our movie", it would be Gremlins. So, you can probably appreciate how precious I am about this series, and how annoyed I am by the inevitable remake/reboot news that has crapped all over my doorstep.

Christopher McQuarrie is better known as the Oscar-winning writer of 1995's The Usual Suspects. He also has some directing chops with the very underrated Way of the Gun back in 2000. It wasn't until last year's Jack Reacher that he got back in the saddle. The movie was critically well received and made a decent amount of money, raking in over $210M worldwide. Plans for a sequel are still up in the air so McQuarrie is looking for other projects to use his many talents on and he may have found one or two.

A new version of the musical Guys and Dolls may be soft-shoeing its way to the big screen as 20th Century Fox have closed the deal for the rights, with the studio looking to cast the rather winning combination of Channing Tatum and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

Armie Hammer has received good notices for his performance(s) in The Social Network, as well as his supporting turn as a horrifying Mummy in J. Edgar, but will finally launch himself into the big-time with this summer's Lone Ranger. Despite being the title role, Hammer will be content to play second-fiddle to Johnny Depp's Tonto. Speaking as someone who tires of Depp's shtick, Hammer's presence in the trailers has entertained me far more, so kudos to him.
Hammer's next big role will once again see him share the spotlight with a major movie star; Tom Cruise. The pair will unite for Guy Ritchie's adaptation of the popular spy series The Man from UNCLE.
