A few more details have been revealed about the plot of Kick Ass 2. We have reported that Chloe Moretz, Aaron Johnson and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are all returning, and that writer Mark Millar is full square behind the project, but these are the first reasonably reliable hints as to the direction that Jeff Wadlow is going to take the franchise (for a franchise it very well could be).

In an interview with Showbiz 411, Sigourney Weaver has seemingly confirmed that James Cameron is going to shoot his three sequels to Avatar back to back, aiming for releases in three consecutive years.

All of these big tentpoles incorporate sophisticated motion capture technology to bring their creations to life, making it possible to record and render (incomplete) effects on set. Now, Seth MacFarlane has used that same technology to give the world a teddy bear simulating fellatio. Potential: Realised.

What a tangled web he weaves... Whilst he’s known to many as your ‘Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man’, the web-slinger is never shy in attracting a vast array of dangerous enemies, each with their own unique way to take down the red-and-blue spandex-clad saviour. In the impending The Amazing Spider-Man, the hero’s famous foe, The Lizard, finally hits the screen after a Sam Raimi trilogy that contained Dr Curt Connors only to leave the reptile in the shadows. As a character fans have been vying for since Connors first came into contact with Maguire’s Peter Parker, wishes have finally been fulfilled. Future prospects are bright, too, and here are some possible future foes for Marvel to sink their teeth into now that Spider-Man has received the reboot treatment.

Today's Retro is a bit more personal because, this week, I'll be looking at one of my favourite films, Howard Hawks' El Dorado (1966). I've chosen this as, in my experience, it's a film that not many people have seen which is a real shame and because it's a perfect Sunday Afternoon flick.
