Django Sets Unchained

31 Jan

It has been some time since we saw an update from Django Unchained, Quentin Tarantino's first direct forray into the spaghetti western genre, but now that the production has kicked into gear we finally have something more substantial than a constant procession of exciting casting announcements.

The hugely talented Garrett Dillahunt was lucky enough to visit the Django set and snapped a few pictures of the empty Western streets. Tarantinio's anticipated slavery-era revenge movie is being filmed on Melody Ranch, the same ranch that was used for Deadwood, HBO's short-lived western, which featured Dillahunt in two separate roles.

The experience was moving and nostalgic for Dillahunt, understandably so, I imagine working with David Milch would be a memorable moment for any actor.

The images, along with Dillahunt's tweets. are below.

"I mean, do any of you recognize this street?"

"Actually kinda choked me up a little bit..."

"It'll always be Deadwood to me"

Django Unchained will be relased in the UK on December 26th 2012.

When he isn't writing for the prestigious site you currently find yourself reading, Andrew is busy either writing for EatSleepLiveFilm or posting pictures of dogs in hats on Facebook. He fell in love with movies after a double-bill of The Empire Strikes Back & Return of The Jedi at the tender age of four. His favourite film is Goodfellas, his favourite director is Martin Scorsese, his favourite actor is Paul Newman. Caught you off guard there, eh? You were expecting Robert De Niro or something.
