In an attempt to capitalise on the success of the Sherlock Holmes reboot, Warner Bros. are looking to create a more light-hearted and action-packed take on the familiar tale.
Plot-wise, the film is to focus on the early days of the title characters; Arthur is born illegitimately and raised by a poor knight, slowly learning to become the king of legend we all know. In contrast, Lancelot (The Killing's Joel Kinniman) is born into a noble family but with a more rebellious streak, seeking to challenge the existing order. Famously, in the original tales, the two men fall out quite spectacularly in their rivalry for Guinevere but, according to THR, will not play out until any subsequent sequels.
Dobkin is aiming to begin shooting in March next year whilst Harington will be appearing on our screens in the second season of Game of Thrones and can be seen soon in Silent Hill: Revelation 3D (yet to receive a UK release date).
