The trailer, which can be seen here, might have you looking forward to this exciting take on the genre. With the likes of Paranormal Activity, Apollo 18 and the mass of other films currently experimenting with camera-footage and documentary style filming, Chronicle looks like it will be a breath of fresh air, with less horror and more action in a film we that we might actually enjoy without being scared out of our skin. Chronicle also stars Michael Kelly and Ashley Hinshaw and is set to be released on 3rd February, 2012 in the US - no UK date has yet been scheduled.

Directed by Josh Trank, science fiction film Chronicle has been given its first official trailer. Filmed in the found footage format, three high school friends (Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell and Michael B. Jordan) gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. It’s not long until they find their lives spinning out of control as they begin to embrace their darker sides.
