Following the now-adult pair of witch-slayers, Hansel (Jeremy Renner) and Gretel (Gemma Arterton) find themselves in a town experiencing several witch-related kidnappings due to a sorceress (Famke Janssen). They also have to take on Peter Stormare's Sheriff Berringer, who has taken over the town and plans to conduct his very own witch hunt.
There are just a few as-yet unseen snippets but this new trailer focuses a little more on how the pair became the witch hunters they are today, linking back to their famous encounter with a witch as children. The hint is also that this event will be directly related to the evil sorceress who is kidnapping the town's youngsters.
I still think this looks a little ridiculous, but my fascination with fairy tale retellings means I remain interested and this trailer has gone some way to convince me that it's not without a good sense of humour. Arterton also gets a little more exposure than she has in previous trailers with more action and a particularly fantastic comeback to someone questioning her.
Directed by Dead Snow's Tommy Wirkola and also starring Thomas Mann, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters is released on 22nd February.
