Once production of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is completed, Lawrence will get straight to work on the concluding chapters, the two-part Mockingjay adaptation. The tight production window allegedly being the main reason for Ross passing on the sequel, it seems this daunting schedule is no obstacle for the Constantine director.
Only time will tell if Lawrence earned this gig because he is right for the material or simply efficient at meeting deadlines, as a massive fan of the original movie I remain optimistic that it is the former.
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will open November 2013. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Part 1 is due November 2014 with Part 2 set for release a year later in November 2015.
