In the Easter egg you can view a message written by Peter Weyland (Guy Pearce) about his mentor – it mentions him being a creator of synthetic life forms, implanted memories, selling his creations off world, and being a god on top of a pyramid, overlooking a city of angels. This all leads to the conclusion that his mentor was Eldon Tyrell, the inventor who created the replicants in Blade Runner. This could be a pretty massive bombshell as Scott has mentioned he is working on a sequel to Blade Runner featuring a female antagonist and there is also a sequel for Prometheus in the works.
If he tries to combine the two worlds, after the mixed reviews of Prometheus, he could alienate a lot of his fans as the original Blade Runner and Alien are now part of cinema history and many people will feel they should be left alone. What do you guys think, do we want to see a cross-over between two of the greatest films ever made? Or is Ridley meddling in things that should be left alone.
