Seen most recently in Snow White and the Huntsman (although he might have been eclipsed by Chris Hemsworth right bicep), Claflin has also held his ground in a number of other big roles, including PotC: On Stranger Tides and the BBC’s Any Human Heart.
Now joining the younger Hemsworth brother and Josh Hutcherson, Claflin will be adding to the already bustling herd of teenage heart-throbs. But pitchforks down, Hunger Games virgins; he is not another love interest! For fear of ruining the plot too much, I’ll just leave you with the knowledge that he waves a trident around and doesn’t wear many clothes.
This casting has arguably been the most anticipated by fans the books, who already seem happy with the news of Jena Melone as Johanna Mason, Lynn Cohen as Mags, and Alan Ritchson as Gloss (who may also be sat with the other heart-throbs).
The Hunger Games: Catching Fire will be released November 2nd, 2013, and our patience is rewarded with knowing the title doesn’t feature the word ‘saga’ anywhere!
