Less Cool Marvel News: Downey Jr Hurts His Foot, Delays Iron Man 3 Shoot

Since we got the cool Marvel movie news out of the way yesterday, here is something considerably less fun. Robert Downey Jr. has set the Iron Man 3 production back after injuring his ankle while shooting a stunt scene for the upcoming super-sequel.

The Marvel press release states: "Robert Downey Jr. sustained an ankle injury on the set of Iron Man 3 in Wilmington, North Carolina while performing a stunt. There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates."

No further word has been released on the extent of his injuries but, similarly, no word has come out to indicate the delay will be serious enough to impact the film's planned May 2013 release.

Lost in the Multiplex wish Mr. Downey Jr. a speedy recovery - but as long as he didn't sprain his charm muscle, everything should be fine.
