Daredevil Dead? Joe Carnahan Hints At Superhero Project's Demise

When Fox tasked Smokin’ Aces and The Grey director Joe Carnahan with reinventing one of Marvel’s most popular characters, Daredevil, they did so with a major proviso. The studio has only until October 10th to get something Daredevil-ish into production, as if nothing is in production by that date, the rights revert to Marvel and Disney who will then presumably work the fearless one into their ever-expanding movie universe.

Things appear to have hit a major stumbling block however as Joe took to twitter recently to deliver the following ominous updates:

Think my idea for a certain retro, red-suited, Serpico-styled superhero went up in smoke today kids.

We shall see. Time is NOT on anyone's side.

Looks like Joe has given up the ghost on this one and with Fox running out of time to bring some fresh blood in it may not be long before Marvel has another string to its already impressive bow.
