Gareth Edwards Promises to Cleanse Our Sins

San Diego Comic-con is often the place to announce trailers, casting and sequels. It’s where people try to look forward to what the silver screen has to offer, and vary rarely dwells on the mistakes of the past.

Godzilla 2So it came as no surprise that when Thomas Tull talked about the upcoming reboot of Godzilla, there was no mention of the Broderick Debacle of ’98.

Instead, he treated the attendees of SDCC to footage of a ravaged city, with a strange creature lying on the ground. Tully, and the film’s director Gareth Edwards, then talked in detail about what they had to offer.

“There’s nothing sci-fi, it’s very grounded and realistic”, Edwards added, about the film’s approach. “We’re looking at what would it be like if this all really happened?”
