The trailer depicts Nolan's trilogy from the humble origins of Batman Begins, to the zeitgeist explosion of The Dark Knight, leading us into the promise of further greatness. It creates a genuine emotional connection to Batman's journey and its impending conclusion. It's a great trailer, including some new footage, encouraging audiences to have a major Batman movie marathon on July 19th.
On a lighter note: The new TV spot boasts a cameo by The State/Reno 911 funnyman, Thomas Lennon, playing Bruce Wayne's physician. That should adequately silence all the naysayers who claim Nolan's Batman movies are too serious. (Why so?)
The Dark Knight's journey ends July 20th.
