Jimi Hendrix Biopic To Feature No Jimi Hendrix Songs - Makes Sense

Andre 3000 as Jimi Hendrix

Is it possible to create a biopic about one of the most famous musicians in the world without actually using any of his songs? Well, the upcoming Jimi Hendrix biopic is about to find out.

The film, currently titled All Is By My Side, will not feature any of Hendrix's hits as his estate has decided to withhold the rights to the music. It will be able to feature Hendrix's cover versions of songs such as Hound Dog, Wild Thing and Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band which he performed in the early stages of his career.

With Andre 3000's musical background, it's likely he'll be able to replicate the rock star's distinctive sound but sadly, we won't be hearing his version of Purple Haze any time soon.

Due for release in 2013, it remains to be seen whether All Is By My Side will maintain any audience interest now that it is forced to go ahead without the songs that made Jimi Hendrix so famous.
