Naomi Watts Gets into Character as The Most Famous Woman in the World

It’s been long enough, Hollywood has decreed. Taste and decorum be damned, it’s time for a movie about Princess Diana.

Last year’s miraculous transformation of Meryl Streep into Margaret Thatcher set the bar high for actresses getting into character as English icons from the 80s, and - from certain angles, at least - it looks as if Naomi Watts might have pulled off the trick too.

The film is thought to focus on Diana's relationship with heart surgeon Dr Hasnat Khan and also looks at her time with Dodi Fayed, who she was with at the time she died. The movie will include her death, aged 36, in a car in a Paris tunnel in 1997 with Dodi.
