V/H/S is a found footage anthology movie telling five different stories from five different perspectives.
The film begins with a group of burglars, hired by an unknown third party, tasked with the job of breaking into a desolate house and acquiring a rare video tape. On further investigation the men find the house filled with anonymous tapes, to root out their targeted cassette, they begin watching the tapes with each one revealing things stranger and more terrifying than they ever imagined.
The new red band trailer offers curious horror fans a chance to see just what these dreaded tapes have in store. It's red-band so expect strong language and some gruesome material.
The trailer hints at a wide variety of sub-genres being explored, as well as a lot of experimentation with the found-footage format (one segment is shot entirely through a Skype conversation), making this one of the more unique titles to look out for over the coming year.
Each segment is directed by a different up and coming name in the genre; David Bruckner (one of the directors from the underrated anthology gem The Signal), Glenn McQuaid (I Sell The Dead), Joe Swanberg (mumblecore royalty, with Hannah Takes The Stairs), Ti West (The Innkeepers), Adam Wingard (A Horrible Way To Die), and media collective Radio Silence.
V/H/S will be hitting American shores via VOD on August 31st with a limited theatrical appointment from October 5th, Momentum Pictures have acquired the UK distribution rights but no release date has been set.
