Currently still in production, the film follows a slave-turned-bounty hunter (Jamie Foxx) who, with the help of his mentor (Christoph Waltz), sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner (Leonardo DiCaprio).
It’s not made clear who exactly Hill will be playing, but he had been considered for the part of Scotty Harmony, the kid who loses Django’s wife (Kerry Washington) to DiCaprio’s Calvin Candie, early in the film’s development when he had to originally turn it down due to his schedule being so busy.
With a couple of big names who recently had to exit the project, including that of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Sacha Baron Cohen, it may be that he is taking over one of their roles.
I’m sure we’ll find out more soon, but until then we will next see Hill in the upcoming comedy The Watch, as well as starring opposite DiCaprio in the Martin Scorsese-directed The Wolf Of Wall Street.
Django Unchained is set to be released on 18th January 2013.
