With Russell Crowe already in place as the titular boat-builder, and rumours abound that Ray Winstone will be onboard as Noah’s antagonist, Jennifer Connelly is now strongly rumoured to be involved in the guise of Noah’s wife.
On the subject of Winstone, reports suggest the film is meant to be a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah. Now, my Biblical knowledge is a little hazy to say the least, but did Noah have an antagonist in his story, other than the weather of course? All will become clear in time, I’m sure.
Connelly has, of course, previously worked with Aronofksy on his deeply dark drama Requiem for a Dream and also appeared as Crowe’s wife in Ron Howard’s A Beautiful Mind. Connelly would join Emma Watson on the cast list with Watson down to play a young woman who starts a relationship with one of Noah’s sons. Son-wise, Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief) and Douglas Booth (LOL) are reportedly onboard as well.
Noah isn’t expected to arrive at cinemas until March of 2014, but keep your eyes peeled for further casting news.
