Currently without a title, the film is set to begin principal photography in the autumn or early winter from a screenplay written by Jack Paglen with Alcon Entertainment producing and financing the project. Clearly learning a thing or to from his co-worker, Pfister isn't revealing any details about the plot just yet.
A highly successful cinematographer with credits including The Italian Job and Laurel Canyon to his name, it's Pfister's collaborations with Nolan that have yielded the most critical success. Working with the director on seven films since 1999's Memento garnered him three Oscar nominations with his work on Inception winning him the Academy Award in 2011.
Although this will be his first feature film, Pfister has been working as a director in commercials for several years and Nolan and Thomas have stated that they "have been hoping to work with Wally as a director for a long time, and are thrilled to be working on such an original and exciting project alongside him and Alcon".
You'll next be able to see Pfister's cinematography work on a little film out on July 20, The Dark Knight Rises.
