The number of video game cameos crammed into the support group scene is stunning, I imagine it cost a gold coin (gold ring if you're a Sonic kid) or two to get the rights to these characters, and the extra effort pays off. It's a scene loaded with personality and real reverence for video game history. It's also incredibly funny and would work perfectly well without the slightest understanding of who these characters are; but being a life-long video game nerd certainly helps.
The trailer is full of variety and charm, making the long wait for February 2013 all the more aggravating. My current theory (backed up by the similar delay for The Muppets) is that Disney hates to see me happy. That's the only thing that makes sense.
