Lost in The Multiplex

Third Bat Teaser Hits the Webs

The Batman promotional material just keeps on coming. After months with just an unsatisfactorily vague image and a teaser made up of the daily rushes, the last episode in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy is finally being heralded by a barrage of new material. Apart from the flood of images (all of which you can blow up to your heart’s content on our Dark Knight film page), the four-minute extract of Bane’s aerial escape, the first proper (and excellent) trailer and then last week’s two TV spots, we’ve got a third – and presumably final – spot for you today. It premiered on US TV last night and, whilst it  doesn’t give too much more away, it confirms – as if anyone really needed it confirming – that Nolan is going heavy of the doom and gloom again. With Marvel nailing their colours to the more colourful end of the funnybook spectrum, Nolan and DC are definitely majoring in shades of black.

You can find the 30-second clip here, and it throws out some brief new snippets of footage and introduces us again to some of the films major characters: Christian Bale’s Bruce Wayne/Batman; Anne Hathaway’s Selina Kyle/Catwoman; Tom Hardy’s Bane; Gary Oldman’s Commissioner Jim Gordon; Michael Caine’s Alfred and Morgan Freeman’s Lucius Fox. Juno Temple, Josh Pence, Daniel Sunjata, Nestor Carbonell, Tom Conti, Joey King, Brett Cullen, Chris Ellis, Josh Stewart, Christopher Judge, Adam Rodriguez and Rob Brown co-star.

The Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20th.
