Anchorman 2 - Adam McKay Talks Teaser Trailer and Brilliant New Poster Is Released

18 May

With the recent news that Anchorman 2 is set to go into production next February, writer and director Adam McKay has given a few hints about the upcoming teaser trailer, whilst a brilliant new poster has been released online.

Anchorman2teaserpostersmallAs confirmed by Ron Burgundy on his official Twitter account earlier this week, the teaser will be attached to prints of The Dictator. Burgundy commented: “Dont get Twirter. Anchorman2 teaser w Dictator tom night. Dont know what a teaser is. World is crazy? Having a scotch.”

The teaser includes the entire Channel 4 news team, reuniting Ron Burgundy (Will Ferrell), Brick Tamland (Steve Carell), Brian Fantana (Paul Rudd) and Champ Kind (David Koechner), with some classic lines from Brick that involves him wanting to make you cream.

McKay also told Entertainment Weekly about how the teaser came about. He said that, “Paramount came to us with the idea of the teaser and since we’re writing the script it was a good chance to see the characters and hang out with the actors to inspire writing. All of the actors (Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner) slipped right into character and they all looked amazing. Paul has a beard and we’re thinking of keeping it. Kind of an Eddie Rabbit meets Serpico look.”

As for what to expect in the sequel, McKay commented that, “Nothing’s set. Right now I can say for sure there is no Ghost Rider cameo or a scene where Ron fights a wolverine on a nose-diving helicopter. We’re either going to shoot the movie in 3-D or 1/2 D.”

The teaser trailer, should be with us soon, but all we can confirm for now, as the poster highlights, is that the film will be released in 2013.
