Ain't It Cool is reporting that Sacha Baron Cohen and Kurt Russell have dropped out of Tarantino's much anticipated westerns. The reasons for the departures are not given, but speculation suggests that Cohen is tied up with promoting The Dictator and Russell - well, chances are, he's just being Russell. The two roles they were slated to play are not major, and the latter's Calvin Candie has been absorbed into the character of Billy Crash, being played by The Shield's Walton Goggins, which is no bad thing in my opinion. Candie and Crash are unpleasant characters and Goggins can do unpleasant in his sleep.
The word on the film's progression has been largely positive, and the release date - Christmas, this year - can't really come fast enough.
