Gina Carano Goes From Haywire To Hotwire, In Talks To Join Fast Six

25 Apr

The Fast/Furious series are, to my mind, one of the high points of guilty pleasure blockbuster entertainment. They are loud and silly but do so with pride, it wasn't until Justin Lin joined the franchise with Tokyo Drift that they started to become genuinely good movies. The franchise briefly stalled with Fast And Furious, but quickly shifted back in top gear with the excellent Fast Five.

Gina CaranoIt's rare that a franchise finds not only a renewed life, and the best box office performance, with the fifth movie but Fast Five managed it. As a result a lot more people are excited to see Fast Six and it's on Justin Lin and company to find a way to top Fast Five, one way to do so is to pad the cast with more badasses.

At present, original series stars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker will return along with Fast Five highlight Dwayne Johnson and they will be joined by another certifiable (and far more visually appealing) badass.

Gina Carano may not have bowled people over with her acting in Steven Soderbergh's Haywire (a movie I liked, despite its faults) but she is more than credible enough to star in a Fast/Furious movie.

Fast Six will be drifting into cinemas Summer 2013.

He fell in love with movies after a double-bill of The Empire Strikes Back & Return of The Jedi at the tender age of four. His favourite film is Goodfellas, his favourite director is Martin Scorsese, his favourite actor is Paul Newman. Caught you off guard there, eh? You were expecting Robert De Niro or something.
