We have been inundated with new posters and finally we have a brand new trailer, exclusive to Machinima (click here to watch), and it promises more G.I. Joe style action with all the Saturday morning cartoon-inspired audacity that made me a begrudging fan of the first movie. This time things are improved by a better cast (although I am sure the loss of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's heightened, very aware Cobra Commander will be missed) and an excess of ninjas.
The trailer introduces our new heroes (and makes very little attempt to conceal the fact that Channing Tatum's Duke isn't in most of the movie) and shows off some delightfully over the top action, such as COBRA blowing London to smithereens, motorcycles that turn into a cluster of rockets and an avalanche of ninjas. An avalanche. Of ninjas.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation will be ruining Great Britain's gold medal chances (whatever they may be) on August 3rd.
