Kutcher was suggested for the role after the Apple CEO passed away in October because he bears a striking resemblance to the young Steve Jobs. The film will track Jobs' career from his early days as a hippy to becoming one of the leading pioneers in the technology field.
While everyone is I'm sure aware of Kutcher's contributions to television and cinema, Stern's a little more under the radar. His previous directing credits are the Kevin Coster comedy, Swing Vote and the Aaron Eckhart film, Neverwas. He's also signed on to direct Carnaval, with John Cusack and Johnny Knoxville.
Not the planned biopic announced based on Jobs' autobiography, Stern's film is set to begin filming once Kutcher is on hiatus from Two and a Half Men later this year.
