It’s the sequel many of us never thought we would see. Several years ago, in their infinite wisdom, Paramount studios decided they didn’t think an Anchorman sequel would attract a large enough audience and so the dream looked dead and buried.

The execs clearly overlooked the fact that, for people aged between 21-30, it’s one of the most loved comedies in recent times. If you were a student between the years of 2004-2006 it was basically compulsory viewing. How did they ever come to that conclusion in the first place? The mind boggles.

Anyway, it appears as they have finally seen sense, after Ron Burgundy himself took to the Conan O’Brien show to announce some good news: CLICK HERE

Ferrell is definitely reprising his leading role and is co-writing the movie with Adam McKay. McKay will also be on directing duties again too. At this stage the rest of the cast, aside from Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, are unconfirmed but I can’t see many of them opting out of this sequel given its immense cult popularity. Maybe Steve Carrell will politely ask for a few more lines this time round, but other than that I can see it being business as usual.

No word on the plot as yet, we only know it’s green lit and in progress. Rest assured we’ll be paying special attention to this little story and will keep you posted on any developments.
