Nolan

Christopher Nolan, the man behind the huge success of the Batman/Dark Knight franchise, has been awarded his own star on the famous forecourt of the Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Bill Murray - Ghostbusters 3

Joel Cohen is the writer of Garfield, whereas Joel Coen is one half of the Coen brothers, the award-winning writer and director team. Bill Murray famously confused the Cohen with Coen, resulting in him signing on to play everyone's #1 annoying orange cat (sorry, Heathcliff).

This is worth considering in light of the recent news that Etan Cohen, writer of Tropic Thunder and Men in Black 3, has been chosen to perform rewrites on the long-troubled Ghostbusters 3. Is the increasingly desperate Dan Aykroyd trying to pull a similar gambit and fool Murray into thinking the snagged the Ethan, the second Coen brother?

Robot-and-Frank-620x250

If you thought the standout scene in I Robot was when Will Smith's character purchased a robot for his sceptical grandmother then the trailer for Robot and Frank will be right up your alley.

Nephilim artwork

It is safe to say that Darren Aronofsky's Noah won't be all animals going two by two. Things are going to get crazy. Would we have it any other way?

Superman

We’ve had very little on the Zach Snyder helmed reboot of Superman, The Man of Steeel. There’s been a logo and one promotional shot to keep us interested. It’s quite likely that we will have some additional material to digest throughout Comic-Con but, before that, it looks like someone had an itchy trigger finger over at the official IMAX website.Details after the jump.

The Expendables 2 - Comic Con Poster - Top Slice

We’re now just a few weeks away from the release of Simon West’s action extravaganza The Expendables 2. In preparation for the film’s panel at Comic-Con and to whet our appetites a bit more, we’ve been treated to another poster that showcases the subtlety and dramatic heft that we can expect from such a demure and muted film.

Taken 2 - Poster - Top Slice

Fans of right wing vigilantism rejoice – Liam Neeson is back to his friend-shooting best in Taken 2, which gets a new trailer this week.

VHS - Trailer - Top Slice

Portmanteau horror is not something often seen these days, but new movie V/H/S unites many of the most exciting directors working in horror cinema today to produce a horror anthology that, on the strength of this new trailer, looks to be utterly terrifying.

Resident Evil Retribution - Top Slice

A fistful of images have been released for the next instalment in the interminable Resident Evil franchise. These zombies are resilient, right?

Alien

It’s difficult to describe my love of Alien and its successive films. It’s a bit of an inner conflict I have with myself. I’m utterly terrified of anything even remotely scary, dark or generally aggressive. (I genuinely thought I was going to die whilst viewing Harry Potter & The Chamber Of Secrets at the cinema, for instance. You have no idea how much I wish that were a joke.) When it comes to Alien, however, I can’t get enough. I find myself wanting to be terrified. I am in love with the xenomorph. It’s a thing of sheer, visceral, glistening beauty.
