Lost in The Multiplex

Date: June 2012

Prometheus 1

Since Ridley Scott’s Prometheus arrived on the big screen last week, people have flocked in their millions to experience the cinematic equivalent of premature ejaculation. Such promise, unfulfilled…

Marketing material has started to appear for Len Wiseman’s reboot of Total Recall. The film is due to open in a couple of months and the posters you can see after the jump have been photographed on the streets of Hollywood, California.

It's time... to face... the music... as Rock of Ages hits us with its best shot, making the leap from the theatre to the silver screen. It has much in common with the hugely successful Mamma Mia (not a compliment) with the filmmakers praying the audience will have such a great time listening to bad karaoke versions of classic songs it will keep them from noticing that the film has little-to-no plot at all.

The Lone Ranger - Armie Hammer and Johnny Depp - Banner

The behind the scenes story of Disney's big screen adaptation of The Lone Ranger has been a fascinating one, full of zigs and zags, disputes and ultimatums. The big screen adaptation of the 1930s cowboy radio serial/1950s TV series would mark a reunion between the studio, director Gore Verbinski and star Johnny Depp after The Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End.

Terrence Malik TMZ slice

TMZ inadvertently increased their traffic by the number of every film geek on the planet today by accidentally capturing video footage of the cinephile's Big Foot, Terrence Malick, out in the real world.

Further to this morning’s latest barrage of three new teasers from The Amazing Spider-Man, yet another (we must be into double figures by now) has been made available.

It was reported earlier this year that Hammer Films were planning a sequel to its successful The Woman in Black and the studio have now revealed a plot synopsis for the upcoming follow-up:

robocop remake - hugh laurie villain

If you get the reference being made in the title: You are my people. To clarify for everyone else: Hugh Laurie is in talks to play the villain in Elite Squad director Jose Padilha's RoboCop remake.

After the bombastic brilliance of the last trailer for Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, we are now treated to a brand new international trailer.
