Producer Andrew Kosove spoke to The Playlist this week about the warily anticipated remakes/reboots of both Blade Runner and Point Break.

It’s 2012, and Bond is back. Both on-screen and on-line.

It’s been five years since the subterfuge of the IMF has graced our screens. Now it is back, and not a moment too soon, if you ask me. Ethan Hunt and his team of agents are up to their necks in counter-terrorism hijinks again, in a film that harks back to the original Mission: Impossible series with explosive results.

The comedic drama is the fiddliest of genres. Often pathos overwhelms the lighter moments and the comedy invariably gets lost amidst a sea of worthy sentimentality. Not so with Alexander Payne’s latest pic The Descendants, an often hilarious, sometimes tear jerking emotional rollercoaster of a movie that cements Payne’s position as the master of the flawed anti-hero.
