Brad-Pitt-Michael-Fassbender

Variety have reported that Michael Fassbender will rejoin director Steve McQueen for 12 Years a Slave alongside Chiwetel Ejiofor and Brad Pitt.

ben-affleck-and-matt-damon

When Matt Damon and Ben Affleck won their Oscar for Best Original Screenplay, most people wondered who these young turks were and where they came from.

Since then, Matt Damon has steadily grown in esteem as one of the most respected and consistent actors of his generation. Ben Affleck had a wilder career trajectory, becoming your go-to popcorn star to tabloid joke to, most surprisingly of all, a respected director. Now everyone wants to work with him and Warner Bros are desperate to lock him down on a major project with them, most recently The Stand.

muchado-whedon

After the exact amount of no speculation, it was yesterday announced that Joss Whedon’s version of Much Ado About Nothing finished principal photography this week.

What an annus mirabilis 1974 was for Francis Ford Coppola. That year saw the release of two of his most enduring masterpieces, The Godfather: Part II and The Conversation, now making a welcome appearance on Blu-Ray. The two movies couldn't be more different in terms of scale – one is a sprawling epic, the other is a tight little chamber piece – but both show the director at his most acerbic and penetrating.

Directed by Josh Trank, science fiction film Chronicle has been given its first official trailer. Filmed in the found footage format, three high school friends (Dane DeHaan, Alex Russell and Michael B. Jordan) gain superpowers after making an incredible discovery. It’s not long until they find their lives spinning out of control as they begin to embrace their darker sides.

A new trailer for Martin Scorsese's first 3D film Hugo has been released by Paramount Pictures this week. Based on Brian Selznick's award-winning best-seller, The Invention of Hugo Cabret, Hugo is a young orphaned boy, living a secret life in the walls of a Paris train station in the 1930s.

Warner Bros report that that all Harry Potter theatrical film titles will soon disappear from our shelves. As of 29th December, 2011, they will stop shipping all Potter titles, including the recent releases of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2, and Harry Potter: The Complete 8-Film Collection. However, the move won't affect anything digital – Electronic Sell-Through & VOD – or games.

Gary Oldman, Helena Bonham-Carter and Garret Hedlund have been linked to Jaume Collet-Serra’s unnecessary live-action remake of 1988’s cult anime Akira. Rumours from Twitch suggest that Gary Oldman has been offered the role of Colonel Shikishima with Helena Bonham-Carter possibly playing Lady Miyako. It has also been rumoured that Tron: Legacy’s Garret Hedlund is a possible contender for portraying Kaneda.

This is hardly news but, as the sites resident Drive fanatic, I felt it necessary to share this awesome new art print with you.

We all never thought it would happen, but we’re actually getting a 4th American Pie film.

Jim, Michelle, Stifler, Jim’s Dad, Stifler’s Mom, Nadia, Heather, Vicky, Oz, Finch and all the other friends are reunited in East Great Falls, Michigan for their high school reunion. It looks like the whole original cast, including Alyson Hannigan, Jason Biggs, Tara Reid, Mena Suvari and Seann William Scott has returned for this one, so presumably hilarity ensues.
